The ASUS XG-C100C is a compact PCI Express card that adds one 10GBASE-T RJ45 port to a workstation, gaming PC or home server. It is a straightforward way to match the speed of a 10 Gb switch or NAS without moving to fibre.
The port negotiates multi-gigabit rates as well, so it also links at 5 Gb/s, 2.5 Gb/s, 1 Gb/s and 100 Mb/s. That means it can be installed today on an older network and keep working when the rest of the network is upgraded.
