The IBM Storage Networking SAN24B-6 is an entry-level Gen 6 Fibre Channel switch in a 1U chassis, designed to connect servers to storage arrays in small and midsized SANs. It is part of IBM's b-type switch family.
This configuration
• 24 active ports • 24 x 32 Gbps short-wave SFP transceivers • 24 x 10 m OM3 LC/LC fibre cables • 3-year IBM Storage Expert Care Advanced
All 24 ports are active, so no further port licences are needed. With 16Gb optics the ports run at 4, 8 or 16 Gbps; with 32Gb optics they run at 8, 16 or 32 Gbps. Fabric Vision tools provide monitoring and diagnostics, and the SFPs are hot-swappable. The switch weighs 5.76 kg without transceivers.
