Cisco GLC-TE 1000BASE-T Copper SFP Module

The Cisco GLC-TE turns an SFP slot on a Cisco switch or router into a standard RJ-45 copper Ethernet port. It is the extended-temperature 1000BASE-T module that replaced the older GLC-T.

• Runs over ordinary Category 5 unshielded twisted-pair cable for links of up to 100 m (328 ft) • Negotiates 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps automatically and supports Auto MDI/MDIX, so straight or crossover cables both work • Extended operating range of -5 to 85 °C (23 to 185 °F) • Standard SFP footprint of 8.5 x 13.4 x 56.5 mm, hot-swappable

Typical uses include connecting copper-only servers, printers or access points to fibre-oriented aggregation switches, and adding spare copper ports to uplink slots. Cisco covers the module with a five-year standard warranty.
